This location is near the corner of 10th and G streets in Downtown Sacramento. Our new home is just a few blocks away from the State Capitol and within walking distance of the State Water Resources Control Board and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Please take note of the new address when mailing any documents to the Council. Also, please check the Council website for any new staff extensions.

Updated Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance

The Department of Water Resources (DWR) adopted an updated Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (Model Ordinance) September 10, 2009. Cities and counties, including charter cities and counties must adopt their own landscape water conservation ordinances by January 1, 2010 or the Model Ordinance will automatically go into effect on that date. Water suppliers can play an important role in the successful implementation of these ordinances.

The Model Ordinance addresses water budgets for landscapes, the prevention of excessive erosion and irrigation runoff, landscape and irrigation design requirements, the use of recycled water where available, irrigation audits, and the scheduling of irrigation based on the local climate.
